About
Pope Bullock was born in Pensacola, Florida. He grew up hunting the woods and fishing the waters of the Gulf and local bayous.
He studied art and architecture at Wofford and at Auburn, graduating with degrees in Environmental Sciences and Architecture. While in school he developed an appreciation for the landscape of the rural south.
Pope practiced architecture for forty-five years and his buildings have won numerous design awards. A primary focus of his architectural practice has been hospitality and resort hotels. Notable projects include: The Sanctuary at Kiawah, Brasstown Valley, The Henderson, Russell Lands at Lake Martin, and the Ponte Vedra Club and Resort in Florida.
Throughout his architectural career, Pope has produced drawings and pastels of landscapes. Since the summer of 2024 he has added oil painting and now keeps a studio at The Little Tree Center for the Arts.
